Audit Services for UAE Businesses

Independent audit and audit-support work for UAE companies that need clear financial statements and a practical review of their reporting.

Score Plus Auditing L.L.C provides audit services and audit support for small and medium-sized businesses in the UAE. The work is shaped around the company’s legal form, its licensing authority and the purpose of the engagement.

An audit is not the same obligation for every UAE business. Mainland companies, free zone entities and regulated activities can sit under different rules. Some businesses appoint an auditor because their licence, constitutional documents, a bank, an investor or a free zone authority requires it. Others want an independent review before a transaction or a management decision. We start by understanding which of those situations applies.

Audit services

Engagements are agreed in writing before work begins, so the scope, the period covered and the information we need are clear.

  • External audit of financial statements, where an audit engagement is appropriate
  • Financial statement audit for a defined reporting period
  • Internal audit support focused on processes, controls and record-keeping
  • Audit support for management teams preparing schedules, ledgers and supporting documents
  • Practical assistance for SMEs that need an auditor’s involvement for a licence, bank or stakeholder request

Who may need audit support

A UAE company may need an auditor when its legal form, memorandum, licensing authority or free zone rules call for audited financial statements. Banks, investors and buyers also ask for audited accounts during financing or a sale.

That does not mean every UAE company is legally required to undergo an audit. The position depends on the company type, the jurisdiction of incorporation, the activity and any specific regulatory condition. If you are unsure, we can review the requirement with you before an engagement is proposed.

Our approach

We look at how the business actually operates: the accounting records, the reporting framework used, and the questions a user of the financial statements is likely to ask. Findings are explained in plain language, with a clear distinction between what the records show and what still needs management’s decision.

Where the books are not ready for audit, we say so early and can coordinate with bookkeeping support so the engagement is not built on incomplete information.

What you can expect

A defined scope, a request list that matches that scope, and communication while the work is in progress. We do not treat an audit as a surprise exercise at the end of the year.

  • A written understanding of the engagement
  • A structured information request
  • Review of the financial statements and supporting records in scope
  • Clear points for management to resolve
  • Reporting that matches the agreed scope

Questions about this service

Does every UAE company need an audit?

No. Audit requirements depend on the company’s legal form, licensing authority, free zone or mainland status, constitutional documents and any specific regulatory or contractual condition. It is not correct to assume that every UAE business has the same obligation.

What does an audit involve?

An audit engagement examines the financial statements and the records that support them, within an agreed scope. You should expect a request for ledgers, bank records, major contracts and explanations of significant balances. The exact procedures follow the purpose of the engagement.

Can you audit a company if the bookkeeping is behind?

The records need to be brought to a standard that can be reviewed. We can identify the gaps first. Bookkeeping support is available separately where the company wants help completing the records before an audit.

Do you provide internal audit as well as external audit?

Yes. Internal audit support looks at processes and controls for management. An external financial statement audit is a separate engagement with its own scope. We agree which one you need before work starts.
